Caulfield Guineas Day

While there does not look to be a lot of value on the card, the Caulfield Guineas meeting today is nonetheless a very interesting program.

Looking for a good thing on the program (at reasonable odds) is terribly difficult but perhaps LANGRIDGE STREET in race four could be best at each way value.

The Kensington meeting today is also not littered with value but I am keen on NOTJUSTAPRETTYFACE in race five on the card.

Tonight on the A course at Happy Valley I think SHIBALA  in race four looks the best on the program.

Cranbourne and Coonamble Cups

The Cranbourne Cup in Victoria and the Coonamble Gold Cup meeting in NSW hold sway today. The deteriorating track at Cranbourne could be a concern and the track has already been downgraded this morning. The Cup is a tough race, but I am prepared to give Domesky another chance, despite the fact that he has not got a great win strike rate nor does he have good wet form.

I think the best on the program there is Galileo Gold in the final race on the card. At Coonamble the Cup looks a pretty thin race. I think last start Wyong winner Miss Reed will be hard to beat the in the race. The danger looks to be the promising Altonio. Again I think the best on the program comes up in the last on the card, Hewentwhoosh. He was very impressive winning on Dubbo Cup day and looks hard to beat again.

The Sha Tin meeting this afternoon looks pretty difficult but there are a couple I like that could be value. Despite his awkward draw I think that General Danroad has a good chance in race two. He loomed to win in Planet's race here a fortnight ago, but ran out of condition and wanted to lay in over the concluding stages. If Zac Purton can find a spot on him today I think he could atone.

I like another Zac Purton mount at silly odds, the David Ferraris trained Takeanotherchance in race eight.
