Our Partners

Platinum Racing has several partners who are either investors in the company, race horses with us or are shareholders in Joorilans Racing. We encourage all of our partners to taken an active role in the company and welcome them to visit the stables and attend race meetings and enjoy their involvement.

Platinum is a racing venture that we hopes appeals to the smaller people in the industry and aims to give them as much of the complete racing experience as possible – racing, breeding, visiting stables whatever they wish to participate in.

I think 2009 is going to be our arrival in racing. We have done the hard yards, we have got some lovely young horses coming through the system and I am sure we will start to unearth some really competitive horses this year – at all levels.

Please see below information on our partners in either the overall company or in individual horses. Our Board and permanent staff appear in Our Team, which I hope to complete this week.

OUR PARTNERS ARE:

chiang_see_poh

CHIANG SEE POH (Singapore): See Poh and his wife Shin have been friends for many years. See Poh, his wife and kids Ruth, Fay, Esther and Benjamin are avid horse loves and have spent several holidays here in Australia and at my ex farm in Tumut. See Poh has been to rural and regional race meetings on his trips to Australia and has a real affinity with rural Australia having travelled extensively throughout the countryside at every opportunity he gets. He has been a great supporter of mine and I am extremely grateful for the support he has given Joorilans Racing in the past. The photo of See Poh was taken a couple of years back during one of his trips to Joorilans.

keith_ballin

KEITH BALLIN (QLD): Keith lives in North Queensland and is an organiser with the Australian Workers Union. An avid follower of racing Keith joined up with Joorilans some time back and has stuck solid when we were struggling to get it all together. Keith began his working life in the sugar industry as a carpenter before leaving the industry some time back and working in hospitality. He then became a secretary for the AWU in Central Queensland. A resident of Bundaberg, Keith’s interests (outside of racing) are golf, cricket and rugby league. He has raced horses in Queensland before.

brian_kennedy

BRIAN KENNEDY (QLD): Brian is a real estate franchisee in Queensland. Brian was one of the first people to sign up with Joorilans Racing and is also an avid racing follower. I met Brian via communicating with him in online forums on racing. Brian is the principal of the Ray White Commercial at Pine Rivers and has been with Ray White for over 23 years. He has developed strong relationships in the area.

george_dionysius

GEORGE DIONYSIUS (QLD): George is another early entrant into Joorilans Racing. A visitor to Joorilans at Tumut, George is a truckie and lives in Bundaberg. An avid racegoer and follower of first Joorilans and now Platinum horses – George has been a stalwart.

BAI YI FENG (China): Bai Yi Feng and his father Bai Ming operate the Mingda Woollen Mills in Mengzhou City (Henan Province) in China. A great overall supporter of Australia, Mingda exports tons of woolskins from Australia each year and I had the wonderful experience of visiting Henan and the woollen mill a few years back.

PENG CHENG SHA (China): Mr Sha is a true gentleman and a very successful self-made businessman in Xi’an (Shaanxi Province) in China. Mr Sha is a great philanthropist and has built a kindergarten (in the shape of a ship) in Xi’an and some years back he hosted me on a tour of Xi’an including his factory (where he produces vitamin tablets) and included all the sites such as the Terracotta Warriors.

DANNY PATERSON (QLD): Danny is also a North Queenslander. He joined Joorilans at the same time as Keith and George. Danny was in fact the driver to get the North Queenslanders involved. I began speaking to Danny through on line racing forums and he is a keen racegoer and has been a great supporter.

clelia

CLELIA PAINO (NSW): Clelia has been a friend for more years than we both care to remember. Clelia has been a great supporter of mine and has worked in the fruit and vegetable industry all her life. Clelia is not an avid racegoer and became involved to support me but she has taken an interest in the company as far back as Baez’s first trial which she attended.

clancy_philippe

CLANCY PHILIPPE (VIC): Clancy runs the successful online racing forum “latemail.” He was also one of the first on hand to take part in Joorilans. The Mauritian-born Clancy and his wife Madeline reside in Melbourne and he is an avid racegoer and a very keen form follower. People interested in Clancy’s online forum can join This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

TABBITA LANE:

We have three partners who race Tabbita Lane with us. They are Mrs Vicki Ko (Sydney). Vicki is the wife of Simon Ko, the CEO of Sing Tao newspapers. A former resident of Hong Kong, Simon has worked for Sing Tao for many years starting out with the newspaper when it was owned by Sally Au.

Simon put us together with two of his friends Tony Lau (Australian citizen who operates a Chinese restaurant in Foshan, Guangzhou) and Mak Kang Hoi (Sam) who lives in Hong Kong. Sam, whose colours Tabbita Lane races in, has had several good horses in Hong Kong, in particular Survey King. He also owned Surveyor (which he gave to Joorilans) and he currently has the handy Survey Survey in Hong Kong with David Ferraris.
