OUR BOARD
GARY KNIGHT: Gary has been involved in the industry from a very young age, as a race caller, racing journalist and an apprentice jockey and then as an owner and breeder through his operation Joorilans Racing Pty Ltd. Gary is Joorilans representative on the board. The son of a former bush jockey, Gary began riding work at 12 at Griffith, and rode for four years in races in his early teens. He has also been the racing editor of the Riverina Daily News, and the course broadcaster at Griffith, Hay, Balranald, Cowra, Orange, Forbes, Parkes, Mudgee, Gulgong, Carrathool and other country racecourses. Gary runs the day to day management of the horses overall, liaising with the trainers, promoting Platinum in Australia (in particular) and looking at ways to extend Platinum’s racing footprint. He travels extensively throughout rural and regional Australia and will be taking a very hands on managerial role of our new racing annexe at Orange.
LI JIABAO (Leon): Leon came to Australia to study in 2003 from Mainland China and developed an interest in Australian horse racing. Leon and his father became involved in Platinum and Leon represents his family’s interests in the company on the board. Leon is currently assisting with his father’s business in China but will return to Australia shortly to work as our Asian Racing Manager. Leon will be opening up new opportunities for the company with the re-commencement of racing at Wuhan in China and it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Platinum will partner with some Chinese associates and actually race horses in Wuhan. Leon is assisting the company with new clients in both China and Hong Kong. He is taking an active role in developing a project involving “full circle” involvement and investment from Hong Kong.
HAN QINYUNG: Mr Han has had a successful business background in China in hotel and property development. Mr Han and many of his friends have an interest in the advent of thoroughbred racing again in China which began again in November 2008 at Wuhan. Mr Han has also committed himself to a role within Platinum to extend our Asian client base. Asia, especially in the current financial situation that has engulfed the world, has become an even more important market to Australia in terms of not only the export of horses but the securing of new clients to race horses here. With racing now in full swing at Wuhan in China it is essential that we secure a strong client base from out of the Asian market.
OUR CURRENT ASIAN MARKETING TEAM
Lu Guo Hao and Jinbo Zhu (who both work for Joorilans) have been very active in the Asian marketplace for us this year and with a team of four people working the Asian marketplace, it places the company in the enviable position of having the cultural capabilities, the array of business clients and the ability to syndicate horses to race both here and in the Asian market.

The marketplace is sure to get very competitive this year and we are looking to race horses in both Singapore and Macau under our own banner as well as in partnership with clients secured in these markets. It is also highly likely that several horses will race here with Platinum having partners from Asia race horses in Australia with us.
We also plan to sell horses into the Asian market, particularly Singapore, Macau and Malaysia.
The company is holding sales meetings and syndication meetings in Singapore in March and in Macau, Hong Kong and Shanghai in April.
